Contact Me

The Business of Baking is happy to work with brands on a number of different projects – my media kit is available by emailing me.

There are a number of services I offer, including:

  • Speaking and presenting – I’m happy to come along to your local cake group, small business forum or event and give a talk or participate in a panel related to the topics of business, small business, baking or decorating (or all of the above!)
  • Small group mentoring – If you’ve got a local small group of business owners that meets regularly and would like to have a group facilitator or speaker, or if you would like some mentoring but cannot afford my one-on-one coaching, small group mentoring is a great alternative.
  • Advertise on this blog: Options include but are not limited to visual or text ads, sponsored posts, product reviews (relevant to the industry), product ambassadorship.

  1. Hi. I’m a home baker who is interested in starting a keto cupcake/muffin business eventually. I’d like to learn more about baking and creating great keto cupcake and muffin recipes. Do you have any suggestions of gluten free or keto baking classes? It’s very different baking with almond flour and coconut flour and natural sweeteners. I really want to develop great recipes and be proud of my product. Can you help?

    1. Hi Angela, I’m not aware of any resources for keto or gluten free baking specifically but I’m sure they are out there. I think a good place to start would be blogs, as a lot of very talented home bakers who follow those diets often blog about their baking efforts. You can also try normal baking websites (I like the King Arthur Flour one) and see if you can experiment to adapt recipes. – Michelle

  2. Hi Michelle, I just began to read the book. During the intro I thought I was reading about myself. Many of the lines sounded like something I might have written. Im now into the first chapter and even though I have been in the game for a long time, I am still finding thoughts and ideas that resonate with me. I feel like I will be able to recommend this to my friends when they get the I dont know what to do look. Today one of my club members said she was going to OZ to get a new brain. So I certainly will tell her about your book. Thanks, Cathy

    1. Thanks so much Cathy – I love hearing when what I write really resonates. 🙂 And I think we’ve all had the “I don’t know what to do!” look on our faces more than once during the craziness of our businesses. 🙂

  3. Hi Michelle,
I’ve recently started taking my baking seriously, Its a hobby that I do from home.
I have been approached by a friend to be a vendor at an upcoming wedding expo.

Are you able to assist with some tips/ legality advise for a first timer/Beginner before accepting the invitation..

    1. Hey there!

You can find loads of information about that kind of stuff here on the blog already – on the sidebar, you just need to search by topic or by keyword. Without knowing exactly your situation it’s a little difficult to give legal advice. I’d also recommend my Craftsy class (link at the top of this page) because that class is perfect for people just starting out. 🙂

  4. Hi. Michelle. I just want to say THANK YOU. I love you blog, videos, book, everything. I´m so happy you decided to share all your knowledge and experience with us. THANK YOU THANK YOU greetings from MEXICO 🙂

    1. Thanks so much Maritza for your lovely message – I’m so glad you are enjoying everything I do. If I can ever be of help personally, please feel free to get in touch.

  5. Hi Michelle,

I would like to know if one is allowed to hand out ” Completed course” certificates if you are not a qualified cake decorater?

  6. Hi Michelle, I also have the same question as Lorene. Where are you based? I am in Victoria, Australia.

  7. Hi Michelle, I run a cake Business from home. I started 2 years ago and love it. What I don’t love is the money side of things! I read your blurb on the phone conversation regarding pricing. That is so me!!! I am interested in getting more information but wanted to know where you are based as often information in the USA does not translate well into Australia and vice versa (correct me if I am wrong) I am in Perth Australia. I only advertise on facebook Fancy Fondant WA. Looking forward to hearing from you and learning more.
